Part Two of Today

Posted by admin Saturday, January 22, 2011 0 komentar
So, I fell asleep around 7 AM, woke up at 12:10 (noon), snoozed until 12:20, weighed myself (255.6) and left my room at 12:30. So I'm guessing, when I booted up my computer to do homework, and at the same time sat down with muffins and milk, it was 12:35. I finished my homework and shut down said computer, and the last image on the screen was the clock saying 1:30. I went to brush my teeth before class. I threw up. I guess it was around 1:35, almost exactly an hour after I had started eating my breakfast. It was one of those "body is wringing the bile out of my gall bladder" episodes. So my question is, do I count calories for my breakfast? My guess is no. So I drove into town, and went to the BK down the street from my college. I got a kid's meal, the regular cheeseburger, apple fries with caramel sauce, and low-fat chocolate milk. I survived class, though I was about 37 minutes late. I didn't leave the house until after 2, and that's when class starts. Yes, I stopped to eat. I know me. If I don't eat when I'm supposed to, I go crazy at the next meal. I guess the calories and fat were appropriete. So, when I got out of class, I again stopped for fast food for convience. I need to stop doing that; it's killer on my budget. I stopped at Wendy's, got the small chili, caeser salad w/ crutons and dressing, and a sour cream and chives baked potato. Oh, and a hot tea. If I had stuck to my guns in my head, instead of giving in to the whining that I didn't want to cook, I wanted to go home and eat, I could have a) brewed my own tea, b) baked my own potatoe in the microwave and forfeted the sour cream in the process (a good thing), and possibly c) opened a can of chili here (I thought I saw one a few days ago). But no, I got exactly what I could have gotten here except for the salad, and I paid somebody else to cook it for me, so I could have it in a matter of seconds. I also want to complain about added sodium, but I'm not sure if I could have done much better here. I suspect that the extra salt is in the chili, and if I'm getting chili from a can, then is it any better than the can of chili fast food resturants open? Hmmm. Something to look up. Also, I'm going to eat only one container of chili from Wendy's. If I opened a can of chili, would I eat the whole can? I think so.

My plan is to do some homework, and put the dishes in the dishwasher, and at 10:00 pm, I'm taking two fenegrin (just like my doctor told me) and lay down. I will sleep until I am satisfied.

PS It was raining again today. I was nervous, because when it rains and my husband drives the mustange, it usually spins out bad. I haven't had any trouble with it yet, and today was no exception. Maybe it's because I'm scared, I drive much more carefully.

PPS (or is it PSS?) After I emptied my belly (so, I guess I was 'morning dehydrated' too) and went to the bathroom, I weighed myself again. 254.6. One pound of bile gone. :op Gross.

I can't do today.

I woke up about fourty minutes ago. I got about 9 hours sleep. My shoulders are cramped, my mouth is dry, my neck is crimped, my eyesight is blurry, and my head keeps whining, "I want to go back to sleep!!!!" If I were still working at the casino, I would call in and take the one or two points. I've called in once total at McDonalds, and I spent the night before screaming in pain in my sleep, and the morning in the ER trying to figure out what was wrong with my knee. I turned in my doctor's note 6 hours before my clock in time, plenty of time to find a replacement. That was back in September. I didn't call in before that, and I haven't called in since. I really wish I could today.

I have no energy to pack my lunch or my husbands. If I knew where the lid to my food proccesor was, I might still do it, but I need chopped onions in the reciepe, so I'm not going to start crying before work as well. I'm going to have a southwest salad with grilled chicken with half the dressing. There, I'm learning to plan ahead for when I would normally make bad snap judgement dessisions. In the event we are out of southwest salads, I will either chose another salad, or in the event of being completely out of salads, I will have the 3 peice selects with hot mustard, and first choice a side salad, second choice a fruit parfette.

Dear Lord, I want to sleep. Please aid me through this day.

Phill didn't eat his breakfast yesturday, so I'm going to eat that. I'll leave him a note to eat what he wants today.

I was about to close this blog with "'Night everybody," but then realized, I'm about to begin today. Remind me again why I'm not going to call in???

I got nine hours of deep sleep. I know why I'm feeling miserable. Two nights ago, I only got about 4 hours of sleep. It's catching up with me. My body wants to finish the race, let everything equal out, let my lack of sleep and my excess sleep become null. Why couldn't I be feeling the effects of my bad desotions? Why couldn't this be a hang over? Then I could berate myself. No, I haven't drank a drop in months, and I don't usually get drunk when I drink anyways. Only 3 times in the past three years, and all with the intention of getting drunk with my friends. And none of those times did I have a hang over.

I have one hour before I have to leave for work. I'm going to drink some orange juice and brew some green tea.

Later everbody.

My Princess Boy Author and Princess Son, Dyson, Hit Today Show

 Awesome!

Cheryl Kilodavis’s 5-year-old son, Dyson, has always preferred to wear dresses. And pink sparkly stuff. And bright, bright colors. This distressed the mother of two boys until her then 8-year-old son, Dkobe, told her to back off Dyson.

At which point Cheryl Kilodavis realized her son’s flamboyant dress-code was her issue and no one else’s. She not only backed off, but she wrote about boys who like dressing as princesses — for kids. Her book, My Princess Boy, was released in December.

The author and her subject went on the Today Show this morning to promote the book and talk about her son’s experiences as well as her own.

I think it’s great that the mother is letting her son express who he is. But I wonder if she couldn’t have gone on the show alone to get her point across. Kilodavis is walking the fine line that all of us who write about our children walk — what’s their story to tell and what is ours? How much of our children do we give away in order to reach out to others? How hard should we fight for their privacy or do we simply relent to a world that doesn’t want us to have any.

I love that Kilodavis not only wrote about her son’s unconventional taste in clothing but that she went on national TV to talk about it. I also love (probably more than anything) that Dyson’s father, Dean Kilodavis, is also totally on board with accepting his son for who he is and is proud and protective enough of him to go on TV and say, basically, “who cares?”

But I think the segment could have easily been just as powerful and interesting without Dyson doing not one, but two command performance skirt twirls for Meredith Vieira. I think the host’s attempts to get the boy to be cute and girly butts up against, if it doesn’t go over, the line of respect for this young boy. Vieira wants so much for Dyson to wig out and make us melt/gasp; but he’s a normal 5-year-old on a news show — not a trained actor at a Disney audition.

Cheryl Kilodavis is obviously a caring and loving mother, just like My Son is Gay blogger Nerdy Apple Bottom. These family’s support and embrace their sons, which is what they especially need for when the inevitable name-calling happens. But we don’t need the twirl or endless photo stream of Dyson in a dress to get what the show is about.

Kilodavis mentions her son’s name is nowhere in the book and that his privacy has been protected. But YouTube is forever. Which is also how long Dyson’s anonymity will be lost after Vieira’s attempted circus show this morning.

Brett Favre: Will The Legendary Quarterback Play Today?

Brett Favre is listed as doubtful on the injury report for today's game and with this likely being Favre's last game as an NFL quarterback, it looks like the old gunslinger will spend it on the sidelines as Joe Webb takes the reins under center.

"I don't think he's going to make it,"Leslie  Frazier said to the media. "It's going to be tough."

Favre is suffering from a concussion he sustained against the Chicago Bears when he miraculously returned for Minnesota's Monday night game outdoors after the Metrodome roof collapsed. It's been a nightmare of a season for the quarterback and it looks like this is finally the end after all of the retirements and comebacks.

The quarterback has taken a lot of criticism, and rightfully so for some of what has gone on but the game will not be the same once he hangs them up, that's for sure.
